Mom had her third chemo treatment on Thursday....and by the way for anyone interested , the two chemo drugs she is getting right now are Cytoxan and Adriamycin. Mom drives herself to the office to get the treatments and typically feels pretty good on Thursday and Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are usually her roughest days and today is no exception. She said that she feels like she sleeps all day, but then she's glad that she can sleep because if she is up very much at all she gets pretty nauseaus. The doctor told mom that her white blood count is high, but her red blood count has dropped a little. This is to be expected, but it also makes us realize that we need to be more careful about dropping in if we're not feeling 100%. I guess we'll just pray that we can stay healthy so we won't have to worry about that.
As many of you might know, Connie Kaehr (Lyle) and Mark Moser will also be starting chemo treatments soon. I'm know that they would appreciate your prayers also.
Thanks for checking in on mom through this blog!

Quick Update
Saturday and Sunday mom was pretty nauseus, but that seems to be getting better. Her energy level seems to be a little low, but her spirits seem to stay pretty positive!

Day After...
Mom had her immune booster shot today and is still feeling very good. She could even go outside today and enjoy the warmth without feeling badly. Dad and her know that your prayers are getting them through - THANKS.

Round Two
Mom had her second round of chemo today and is feeling great. Her lab work came back good. Hopefully she'll get along well with her shot tomorrow, but for now, we are all thankful for each good day!

First Treatment
When mom was given the first dose of chemo she responded very well. She is very thankful for her port knowing that she has 15 more of these treatments. After her immune booster shot, she felt some muscle weakness which is a common side affect. She's definitely more tired than she had been, but each day she is feeling stronger. She even made it to our Easter gathering on Sunday for a few hours.
Dad and Mom have commented many, many times how thankful they are for all the prayers and cards. They know that it is only by God's grace that they can be so peaceful about the future.
Several have asked about meals. We will try to mention if there is a specific need. At this time, we see a possible need for meals a couple days after the immune booster shot. If you are interested in having your name put on a list, please comment on this blog, call Brenda or Jill, or e-mail Jill at djfiechter@adamswells.com.
This blog will be updated after each treatment and possibly a couple times in between. Because we don't have all the e-mail addresses of mom's friends, please forward the address of this blog site on to those who may be interested. Thanks!
