When mom was given the first dose of chemo she responded very well. She is very thankful for her port knowing that she has 15 more of these treatments. After her immune booster shot, she felt some muscle weakness which is a common side affect. She's definitely more tired than she had been, but each day she is feeling stronger. She even made it to our Easter gathering on Sunday for a few hours.
Dad and Mom have commented many, many times how thankful they are for all the prayers and cards. They know that it is only by God's grace that they can be so peaceful about the future.
Several have asked about meals. We will try to mention if there is a specific need. At this time, we see a possible need for meals a couple days after the immune booster shot. A Little History...
At the end of January, mom found a lump on her breast. After going to the doctor, she found out that she had a Triple Negative tumor. She had a lumpectomy which fully removed the tumor. The lymph nodes that were removed all tested clear.
She will be having two different types of chemo. She started the first round of chemo on April 9. The next three treatments of this chemo will be on April 23, May 7, and May 21 in Bluffton. The day after each treatment she will receive an immune booster shot at Lutheran. After this round of chemo, she will start the new drug. This is a twelve week regimen that will be given weekly in Bluffton. Radiation will then follow.

We're thankful to get updates on this blog. It really helps us know specifically when and what to pray for.
